Blows exchanged properly
Full 7e combat · opposed rolls, armour, major wounds
Combat in d100 horror is a conversation: the attack asks, the defence answers. Séance Table runs the whole exchange — the creature strikes, the investigator chooses dodge or fight back with their true numbers on the card, both dice fall, and the house judges by the book.
On a hit the damage is rolled (damage bonus included), armour absorbs its share, and hit points fall on the living sheet where the whole table can see. Major wounds knock investigators cold; the dying can be steadied with first aid before death collects.
Win your fight-back and you strike the horror in return. The whole table watches every verdict on a shared banner — who swung, what answered, and what it cost.
