Sanity is the heart of cosmic horror — and the most bookkeeping-heavy rule at the table. Séance Table runs it for you: the Keeper calls a check from a creature's stat block (1/1d6 and kin), each investigator rolls, and the loss is rolled and deducted automatically from the living sheet.
Lose five points in a single blow and the house marks temporary insanity — and the sufferer's screen itself reels, a private horror the rest of the table only witnesses from outside. A bouts-of-madness table sits at the Keeper's elbow.
Sanity rolls are sacred: no luck, no pushing, exactly as the rules intend. The whole table sees who faced what, and what it cost.
